What We Believe
As members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) we share a rich theological heritage that goes back to the Protestant Reformation. Some of our core beliefs are:
-
Justification by grace through faith. We believe that only by the grace of God through our faith in Christ are we saved. Our actions reflect our faith but cannot earn us our salvation.
-
The sovereignty of God. We believe that God is in charge, not us, and that God's divine will is supreme over all things.
-
The authority of scripture. We believe that scripture is the written witness to God's self-revelation. It is our ultimate guide and authority in faith and in life.
-
The priesthood of all believers. We believe that we are all equal partners in ministry with equal access to God. We do not need an intermediary priest, except for Christ, to reach God.
We value being a place of welcome where all can learn and grow no matter where on the journey of faith you are. The center of all we do is Jesus Christ. He binds us together as a community and empowers us to be representatives of God's love in the world around us.
