Mission is an essential part of the Youth Ministry here at PCOC. Each Covenant Connection chooses their own mission project that they work with throughout the year. Each summer the high school and middle school groups take a mission trip.

 

The Middle School mission trips are generally local. Sometimes we travel up to a half a days drive from Denver, but generally they are in town. The trips last anywhere from three to four days.

 

We have a three year cycle that we follow for the high school mission trips. During the summer that the Presbyterian Youth Triennium happens we take a small trip, generally it is local. The next year we take a large sized trip which is generally within two days drive of Denver or a trip that we fly to our destination. The third year finds us taking a medium trip which is generally a days drive from Denver. Mission is all about the work and serving in our faith, but it is also all about the experience and the connections.

 

During the 2010/2011 youth group year, we will be choosing two mission emphasis to be involved in every six weeks or so. We will either choose these according to a girls mission emphasis and a guys mission emphasis or a middle school mission emphasis and a high school mission emphasis.
